Weight Check: Week 26

Mummy finally got round to taking me to Baby Clinic to have me weighed (the trouble with Wednesdays is that we go to ToddleAlong in the morning and Sam usually sleeps all afternoon so we miss clinic).

On Wednesday (when I was 26 weeks and 1 day) I weighed 7.35kg, 16lb 3oz. This put me just above the 25th centile, so Mummy was pleased that I had stayed on the curve of the growth chart and I was gaining weight nicely!

Who do I look like?

Mummy put in the same babygro Sam wore last year and couldn't believe how much I look like him!

Clever Mummy

Mummy finds tea time quite stressful, especially if I am a bit tired and grumpy! So I end up sitting in the bouncy chair in the kitchen so Mummy can chat to me and keep me distracted! She has hung me up a toy on the kitchen drawers which keeps me busy for ages especially as it is both noisy and great for chewing on!!!

The Baby Walker!

Mummy found out Sam's old baby walker (that actually belongs to Abbie - Mummy is hoping I am walking before Ben wants it back!). I love it. I can stand and play with toys on the little table and if Mummy puts me on the kitchen floor (laminated) I can actually move myself around! Mummy was astounded how clever I was!
Now that I can go in the walker, it makes Mummy's life a bit easier at ToddleAlong as she can put me in one whilst she chases Sam! Last week when we were doing singing, I moved right across the hall as it had a wooden floor. I'll be mobile before Mummy knows it!

Smart PJs

Abbie has been very generous lending me lots of her clothes. Mummy loves these pink PJs and thinks I look very cute!

Teething!

I love to put things into my mouth and I am not fussy what! I am happy to chew on someone's finger, a toy, a newspaper or anything else I can get my hands on. Still no sign of any teeth but I have bright red cheeks a lot of the time so I am sure my teeth are moving under my gums!

Rolling and rolling and rolling..................

I have well and truely got the hang of rolling. During the last couple of weeks (from about 5 and a half months)I have discovered how to roll to the left (previously I could only roll to the right!). Mummy has now discovered that I never stay where she leaves me when I am on the floor. The trouble is I don't seem to have any sense about objects in my path and I will continue to roll until I bash into something!
Here is me rolling into the TV unit from the changing mat, accomplished in about 3 seconds!

I can hold my bottle!

I am now getting a very big (and independant!) girl and will hold my bottle given half the chance. I do tend to get bored very quickly though!

Bathtime!

Now that I am bigger, it is easier to put us all in the bath together (especially since Sam sits nicely and doesn't keep going under!). I love having a bath and like to splash my legs getting everyone soaked, just like Sam used to!

Big eyes!

Mummy thinks I have beautiful big eyes (albeit blue and not even a hint of brown!!!).

My first solids!

Mummy decided that the time had come to try me on some solid
food. My sleeping pattern over Christmas had been getting worse and worse, Mummy and Daddy were so desperate for sleep they were giving me milk in the night and I was drinking more bottles at night than during the day!

Also, Mummy felt that as I was rolling around lots in my cot, I was getting my sleeping bag all wrapped around me which was making me cross. So I now go to sleep in a baby gro and a fleecy sleep suit. Mummy sometimes puts a blanket over me when she goes to bed if it is cold, but that tends to annoy me as well!

Also, Mummy decided to change my milk (can you sense she was getting desperate!). I am now on Aptimal (same as Sam) and not Cow and Gate. Mummy is convinced I am more settled now.

Finally she decided to wean me as I was becoming more interested in food other people were eating. I tried baby rice for few days and I wasn't overly impressed but I think Mummy managed to get me to swallow a tiny bit after continuously spooning it back in when I repeatedly spat it out! Since then I have had carrot, apple, pear, sweet potato, carrot and parsnip, carrot and swede, brocolli. I haven't really disliked anything, although to say I enjoyed any is probably a bit much! I like chewing on the spoon though!

My sleeping is still awful and Mummy and Daddy are very sleep deprived - but I guess I just don't like to sleep a lot!

Me and my niece!

Now that Lisa has had baby Ben, Abbie and I are the only two girls in our group! We'll have to stick together against all those boys!!!!

Sky Diving!

Unlike Sam who didn't move for months, I am getting the hang of getting myself about! I haven't mastered crawling yet but I can now sky dive and have also worked out I can get to the top of my cot if I lie on my tummy and bring my knees up like a caterpillar! Mummy doesn't think it will be long before I crawl!

Bouncing Around!

Mummy has found me out Sam's old door bouncer and has put me in it a few times. The first time I had a go I wasn't too sure, however once I got the hang of it I was quite happy to bounce around, even turning myself round if someone called my name! Mummy is happy we've found something new to occupy me with!

Christmas Ears!

In the true spirit of Christmas, Mummy tried to dress us all up with various bits and bobs in an attempt to make us look Christmassy!
Here is Mummy and Daddy making me wear the reindeer ears - I might look like I was enjoying myself in this photo, but I think I only kept the ears on for about 5 seconds before getting cross!

My headband!

Mummy can't wait until my hair gets a bit longer so she can put it into bunches and plaits and ribbons! Until then she thought she would get me a pretty head band. I, however wasn't too keen on wearing it as I kept getting my fingers underneath and twanging myself! I guess Mummy will just have to wait a bit longer before she can do things with my hair!!

Christmas!

I have experienced my first Christmas. Although my brothers seemed to really enjoy themselves, I couldn't really understand what the fuss was about! I liked watching Harry and Sam open their presents on Christmas Day morning. Harry kindly opened the presents Father Christmas had left for me, and I enjoyed looking at them. I particularly liked the pink doll and the glow worm I got.
After we got dressed, we popped into Auntie Rosie's house, I got lots of cuddles from my cousins. We then went to Nanny and Grandad's. Once I had said hello, and had my bottle I very kindly went to sleep on Nanny's bed (surrounded by lots of pillows to stop me going anywhere - Sam was in the cot!). I slept for over an hour and a half (as did Sam) so everyone could eat their Christmas dinner in peace! After lunch we had more present opening to do (or rather watch) and this time I enjoyed playing with the wrapping paper!

After some more playing and another bottle we went home and got ready for bed!
